Piazza Rotonda Obelisk

          This obelisk is located in front of the Pantheon at Piazza della Rotonda in Rome. This red granite monolith once stood at the Temple of Ra in Heliopolis and is 21 feet tall.
 

 

Piazza dell'Esquilino Obelisk
          This obelisk is located at Piazza dell'Esquilino in Rome and is 48 feet tall.
 


Piazza Navona Obelisk
          The Navona Obelisk is located at Piazza Navona in Rome and is 54 feet tall. This obelisk was created at Aswan by order of Roman Emperor Domitianus in 1st Century.
 


Psammetikos II Obelisk
          It is located at Piazza di Montecitorio in Rome.  It is 112 feet tall, weighs 230 tons, or 460,000 pounds and is made of red granite. This obelisk was originally erected by Psammetikos II, the 3rd king of the 26th Dynasty, at Heliopolis in Egypt.
 


The Sallustian Obelisk
          Also called the Trinita dei Monti Obelisk, it is located in front of Scalinata della Trinita dei Monti at the top of the Spanish Steps in Rome and is 46 feet tall.
 


St. Peter's Square Obelisk
          Located in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican in Rome, the origin of this obelisk is unknown. It is 83 feet tall and weighs 331 tons, or 663,000 pounds. According to the Egyptologist, Labib Habachi, "Legend has it that in the Vatican Circus innumerable Christians, including St. Peter, were put to death and that the reason this obelisk was not later overturned as were all the others in Rome was that it was looked upon as the last witness to the martyrdom of St. Peter."
 

 


Terme Obelisk
          Also called the Dogali Obelisk, it is located in the South Garden at Viale delle Terme di Diocleziano in Rome. It is a red granite monolith and is 21 feet tall.
 


Celimontana Obelisk
          This obelisk is located at Villa Celimontana in Rome and is 9 feet tall.
