Pyramids on the Globe

 Bolivian Pyramids

Accapàna
The Pyramid Accapàna (Akapana) is a steps pyramid at Tiahuanaco, and was once believed to be a modified hill. It has proven to be a massive human construction with a base 655 feet square and a height of 56 feet. Its base is formed of beautifully cut and joined facing stone blocks. Within the cut stone retaining walls are six T- shaped terraces with vertical stone pillars. It is aligned quite precisely with the cardinal directions and it had a covering made of andesit. The pyramid is greatly deteriorated because it's stones were removed for other modern projects. On the summit of the Akapana, reached by wide staircases, there was a sunken court with an area 164 feet square. It was constructed from massive blocks of andesite weighing more than 150 tons. The exterior of the buildings was decorated with intricately carved stone friezes and bas-relief work, much of it covered with thin plates of gold or painted in hues of blue, red, gold, and black.

Puma Punku
Puma Punku is a twin platform pyramid to Akapana. The terraced mounds of Akapana and Puma Punka have their doorways facing the rising sun, indicative of sun worship predominant in Andean mythology. Both Puma Punka and Akapana possess twin staircases on their east and west faces. This east-west axial design is repeated throughout the
Tiahuanaco site.

Chinese Pyramids

Over one hundred pyramids were discovered by two Australian traders on the plains of Qin Chuan in Central China at the turn of the century. The custodian of a local monastery, when asked about them, said that according to records 5,000 years old housed in the monastery, the pyramids were themselves very old. The traders were told that the pyramids belonged to an age when the "old emperors" reigned in China and that the emperors always stressed the fact that they did not originate on Earth. Rather, they were the descendants of the "sons of heaven, who roared down to this planet on their fiery metallic dragons". Legends from the area mention "ugly, yellowish, and skinny beings with big heads that came down from heaven a long, long time ago"! Most of the pyramids are between 100 and 300 feet, but the awesome Great White Pyramid is 1000 feet high with a 1500 foot base.
The construction of the Chinese Pyramids is similar to Teotihuacán. They are made of piled earth with stepped sides, rather than the spectacular engineering of Khufu, and the tops of most of them are flattened.

Cairn of Barnenez

The pyramids of Germany are known as "cairns" and are the largest megalithic structures on the European continent.  Their construction is the 'stone-stepped' design and they can be found throughout the country and the continent.
