Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold,
there stood a man over
against him with his sword
drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us,
or for our adversaries?

And he said, Nay; but as
captain of the host of the Lord
am I now come. And Joshua fell on
his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord
unto his servant?
Joshua is
confronted by a high ranking member of the Army of Yhovah hovering over him.

Ezekiel
Ezekiel Sees God
1: 26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was
the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the
likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon
it. 27. And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about
within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance
of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had
brightness round about. 28. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in
the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was
the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I
fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

in between the wheels, even under the cherub, and fill thine hand with coals of

in my sight.
The Lord Pleads with Ezekiel

An angel of
Yhovah came
over shepherds in the field and the area around them became
brightly illuminated.
The
Transfiguration And Bright Lights

And it came to pass
about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and
went up into a mountain to pray.

And as he prayed, the
fashion of his countenance
was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

And, behold, there
talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

Who
appeared in glory,
and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were
awake, they saw his glory,
and the two men that stood with him.

And it came to pass,
as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to
be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and
one for Elias: not knowing what he said.
The
transfiguration is the account of an aerial visitation to Jesus by two beings
that discuss the coming crucifixion.

radiant clothing suddenly appears.

And in the midst of the seven
candlesticks one like unto the
Son of man,
clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a
golden girdle.
John is
seeing Jesus in his true appearance. There seems to be no reason why John is
allowed to see him while such a look would have killed Moses. The Holy
Spirit,
which John received at Pentecost, must provide immunity that a normal human does
not possess.
