Geodesy is the scientific discipline that deals with the measurement and representation of the earth, its gravity field, and geodynamic phenomena.
The
knowledge of the size, shape, land masses and other planetary details, according to history, were only discovered
in the latter half of the second millennium, AD. But many ancient cultures
reflect a clear knowledge of those facts without the necessary technology to
ascertain them.
No single resource more
thoroughly represents this anomalous know-how, than the Great Pyramid on the Giza Plateau, in
Egypt. Orthodox history places the construction of this, the largest
structure on Earth, in a time almost 5000 years ago. The culture that
built it knew the exact location of true north, without a compass or any skill
to determine this. It is the most accurately aligned building on the
planet, modern technology, not withstanding. They also knew the exact mean
height of the Earth's land masses, a fact unknown until the latter half of the
20th Century. The sides of the structure perfectly reflect the exact
curvature of the Earth, a true enigma,
considering this culture did not know the Earth was round.
These are but a few of
the enigmas found in this structure, but closer examination will show the Great
Pyramid is a basic almanac of the Earth's geodesy. All this knowledge was
incorporated into a structural plan that could not be duplicated today, using
all the technology available. Whatever entity built the Great Pyramid,
they not only knew more than the Egyptian culture, who supposedly built it, they
knew more than we know today.
