Until almost 2000 years after the last book of the Bible was written there were no forms of artificial light and if a flashlight were turned on in the camp of Moses it would be a miracle to say the least.  The only lights known were the sun, the moon, stars, fire, lightning and reflections from those sources.  It is not surprising that these sources are what the authors used to describe the illumination appearing from these vehicles and the beings associated with them.

FIERY PLATFORMS
            EXODUS  13:21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: 22  He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
            A platform flown by Yhovah resembling a thunder cloud that glows brightly at night leads the nation of Israel out of Egypt Cloud = thunder-cloud, Pillar = column or base of column ie, platform, Light = to be luminous.  The book of Exodus is where we get the first indication that God uses physical flying objects as a mode of transportation.  It is described as a pillar of a cloud during the day and a pillar of fire at night. The word pillar is translated from `ammuwd, Pron. am-mood; a column as standing; also a stand, i.e. platform. This means that this could either be a column or a platform that had the appearance of a cloud in the daylight and when the sun went down it lit up. And it is staying close to the people, in other words hovering.  When considered in light of descriptions not yet presented the platform seems a more logical choice.

AERIAL HARASSMENT
            EXODUS  14:24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the Lord looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians
            The flying object wreaks havoc on the Egyptian camp.  An important thing to understand about this craft is that it is one object that changes appearance form day to night not two objects.   Troubled = hamam, pronounced haw-mam', properly, to put in commotion. 

YHOVAH  DESCENDS WITH GREAT COMMOTION
             EXODUS  19:18  And Mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. 19  And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
            The whole mountain is enveloped in a glowing smoky vapor, the mountain is vibrating rapidly, and the vehicle is emitting the sound of a loud ram’s horn.  The vehicle causes vibrations.   

THE VEHICLE PROVIDES SHADE AND LIGHT  
            NUMBERS  9:16  So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.
            The vehicle provides shade during the day and illumination at night.       

AERIAL GUIDANCE
            DEUTERONOMY  1:33  Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.
            It is pointed out that Yhovah scouted the area before the people in the flying vehicle to find a place to camp.

A MOUNTAIN AGLOW
            DEUTERONOMY  4:11  And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.  
            In the immediate vicinity of the glowing mountain is a group of solid flying objects.  The mountain was glowing so brightly it lit up the whole sky.

YHOVAH SPEAKS FROM T5HE FIRE
            DEUTERONOMY  4:36  Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon  earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.
             Yhovah broadcast his voice from and displays his “great fire” the sky.  

            DEUTERONOMY  5:4  The Lord talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire, 
             Yhovah speaks from the glowing object.

            DEUTERONOMY  5:22  These words the Lord spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me. 
            Yhovah spoke to the assembly from the glowing object and the dark object.

            DEUTERONOMY  5:23  And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders; 
            The voice is coming from the dark craft 

            DEUTERONOMY  5:24  And ye said, Behold, the Lord our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice  out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this  day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth. 25  Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if  we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, then we shall die.
            The people are afraid that the brilliant glow of the craft will kill them.

YHOVAH IN A GLOWING OBJECT
            DEUTERONOMY  10:4  And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the Lord spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the Lord gave them unto me.
             Yhovah speaks form the glowing object.  

YHOVAH TALKS FROM THE FIRE
            DEUTERONOMY  31:15  The Lord talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,            
            God talks from the glowing object.

SPINNING CHARIOTS OF  FIRE IN THE SKY
            2 KINGS  2:11  And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 12  And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
            Elijah and Elisha are talking and suddenly a bright flying vehicle and a cavalry of bright flying objects appear and Elijah ascends into the sky by a spinning-flying vehicle.  The word translated into horses, 'cuwc' means rapid movement or flight.  This cavalry of glowing vehicles is most likely the army spoken of where the word "hosts" appears.

CHARIOTS OF  FIRE
             2 KINGS  6:17  And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 18  And when they came down to him,  Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote  them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.
            The King of Syria has surrounded the city of Dothan where Elisha is and Elisha asks Yhovah to help him.  Suddenly the sky was filled with rapidly moving bright flying objects all around Elisha.  One or more flying objects descend to the ground and Elisha asks Yhovah to cause blindness to befall the surrounding army which he does.  The army is captured and later Yhovah restores their sight.

FLYING CRAFT OF THE EXODUS
            NEHEMIAH  9:12 Moreover thou leddest them in the day by a cloudy pillar; and in the night by a pillar of fire, to give them light in the way wherein they should go. 13  Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right judgments, and true laws, good statutes and commandments:
            The actions of the flying vehicle at exodus are recalled.  

A GLOWING PLATFORM
            NEHEMIAH  9:19 Yet thou in thy manifold mercies for sookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go.
            The exodus vehicle recalled again.  

BRIGHT LIGHTS SHINE BEFORE HIM
            PSALMS  18:12  At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.
            Brightness shines before his dense vehicle and are accompanied by glowing objects.

NIGHT LIGHT
            PSALMS  78:14  In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.
            Elohiym led the exodus from Egypt with a thundercloud like flying vehicle and illuminated the night.

AERIAL CANOPY 
            PSALMS  105: 39  He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
            This verse may indicate the flying object was shading the nation of Israel during their travels through the deserts.

DESCENDING FLASHING SPINNING FLYING VEHICLES
            ISAIAH  66:15   For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
            Yhovah comes with fire and vehicles like whirlwinds and shows his anger with flashing fire.

GLOWING SPINNING METALLIC CRAFT
            EZEKIEL  1:4  And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
            A rushing windy great thundercloud like flying craft flew out of the north.  The vehicle had the appearance of brilliant glowing fire all around it and the center of the illumination the vehicle was polished metal.

FLASHING THRONE AND WHEELS
            DANIEL  7:9  I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
            Ezekiel looks where the throne is set and sees the Ancient of Days sitting.  His garment was pure white and his hair like pure wool..  His throne was glowing brightly and the wheels of the craft were shining and glowing.

A BRILLIANT ANGEL DESCENDS FROM THE SKY
            REVELATIONS  10:1  And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
            An angel descends from heaven standing on a fiery platform.  Pillar = base.
