JOSHUA

ARK HOLDS BACK THE JORDAN

JOSHUA 3: 15.
And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)  16  That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.  17  And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
As with the sea the waters of the Jordan River are held back.  See

A CAPTAIN OF YHOVAH'S ARMY
            5:13
And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?  14  And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face  to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
A high-ranking officer of the Army of Yhovah hovering over him confronts Joshua.   See

THE WALLS OF JERICHO
            6:5
And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.
Great noise is used to bring down the walls.

GREAT STONES FROM THE SKY

10:11  And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
Huge stones are showered from the sky.  See

THE LONGEST DAY

10:12  Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13  And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
We can't be sure how this was done or how long it lasted but it seems that the rotation of the Earth was stopped.  See

A DARK SHIELD

24:7
And when they cried unto the Lord, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season.

Yhovah placed the dark solid craft between the people and the Egyptian army.  See   VEHICLE

BATTLE IN  THE STARS

5:20  They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
Unclear as to significance but this verse seems to be talking about a stellar battle.  See

ANGEL BEAMING UP
            13:20
For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar.

A gleam of light beams up into the sky and an angel ascends in the beam. Flame comes from the word ' lahab ' meaning to gleam like a sword.  See   TECHNOLOGY

THE THRONE OF SPLENDOR

2:8   He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them.
The throne of glory is first mentioned.   See

RETRIBUTION FROM THE SKY

2:10  The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven shall he thunder upon them: the Lord shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
Apparently in combat mode Yhovah rolls or tumbles out of the sky upon his adversaries.  Thunder = tumble. Thunder = tumble.

YHOVAH WILL DESCEND
            23:11
Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.

2 SAMUEL

VIBRATIONS AND GLOWING OBJECTS

22:8  Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.  9  There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
These are references to earthquakes, smoke, fire, and glowing objects.  The phrase, "because he was", has been added and the word wroth is taken from the word 'charah' which means to glow.  See

YHOVAH RIDES A CHERUB AND FLIES

22:10  He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.  11  And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
The 'thick darkness' under his feet can be rendered as low clouds which ties into the next verse.. Yhovah rides on a 'cherub' and flies on the edge of the wind.   This could indicate a smooth soaring-like flight as with a glider.  Wings = extreme edge.  See

YHOVAH'S GLOWING SOLID FLYING HOUSE

22:12  And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies. 13  Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled. 14  The Lord thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice. 15  And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.
This appears to be a description of a circular fleet of objects arranged around a main object described as Yhovah’s pavilion or mobile dwelling.  In front of this grouping appear brilliant flashing lights and glowing objects.  Yhovah tumbles out of the sky.  Arrow-like objects and bright flashes cause great consternation to David’s enemies.  See

YHOVAH TAKES SAMUEL

22:17
He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;  18  He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me. 19  They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.  20  He brought me forth also into a large place:, because he delighted in me.
Yhovah rescues Samuel by taking him from the sky and delivered him back down in an open space away from his enemies.   See

INTRUDING SPLENDOR

8:10  And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,  11  So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.
The flying object fills the tabernacle with the splendor of Yhovah and preventing the priests from fulfilling their duties.  See

YHOVAH DWELLS IN DARKNESS AND DENSITY
8:12  Then spake Solomon, The Lord said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
Solomon states that Yhovah lives in the thick cloud.  Darkness = thundercloud.  See

UNRESTRICTED FLIGHT

8:27  But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee how much less this house that I have builded?
Solomon states that Elohiym does not live on Earth and all the skies cannot contain them. Elohiym = the gods.  See

FIRE OF YHOVAH  FELL

18:38  Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
Fire falls and consumes everything in sight.  See

A LITTLE CLOUD

         18:44
And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down that the rain stop thee not.
A small cloud rises out of the ocean.  See

CONSPICUOUS POWER
            19:11
And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord  was not in the earthquake: 12  And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
Yhovah passes by and causes a great disturbance outside a mountain cave that Elijah is hiding in.  The disturbance includes wind, lights, and ground shaking.  See

THE ARMY OF THE SKY BY THE THRONE
22:19  And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
Yhovah is on his throne and the army of the sky is by his side.  Hosts = army.  See

LIGHT WEAPONS FROM THE SKY

1:10  And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
A beam of light comes down and vaporizes the company.  See

FIRE FROM THE SKY
            1:12
And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
There is a consuming fire from the sky.  See

CONSUMING FIRE FROM THE SKY
            1:14
Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties:  therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight.
On Elijah's request the Elohiym send fire or a beam of light that burns up or vaporizes the troops.

ELIJAH TAKEN UP IN A SPINNING OBJECT
            2:1
And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
Elijah is taken up into the sky by a flying craft here described as a spinning.  Though Moses was first to enter the craft Elijah is taken into it as it flies. As first described in
Num. 12:10 the craft is revolving or spinning.    See   BEINGS

SPINNING CHARIOTS OF FIRE TAKE ELIJAH
2:11  And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
12  And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
Elijah and Elisha are talking and suddenly a bright flying vehicle and a cavalry of bright flying objects appear and Elijah ascends into the sky by a spinning-flying vehicle.  The word translated into horses, 'cuwc' means rapid movement or flight.  This cavalry of glowing vehicles is most likely the army spoken of where the word "hosts" appears.  See

HORSES OF FIRE
6:17  And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
18  And when they came down to him,  Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote  them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.

The King of Syria has surrounded the city of Dothan where Elisha is and Elisha asks Yhovah to help him.  Suddenly the sky was filled with rapidly moving bright flying objects all around Elisha.           One or more flying objects descends to the ground and Elisha asks Yhovah to cause blindness to befall the surrounding army which he does.  The army is captured and later Yhovah restores their sight.  See   VEHICLE   and   FLIGHT
